LORD TWEEDSMUIR, BC (1-0) AT LYNDEN (2-0)

Time: 7 PM Friday

Site: Rollie DeKoster Field

Kettels

When Lord Tweedsmuir has the ball: Lynden’s defense has long been a trademark. Senior Jacob Kettels is a load at nose tackle. Junior Brock Heppner has been a disruptive force as a defensive end and senior Grant VanderYacht is a playmaker in the secondary. Look for the Lions to protect their house tonight against a very good Canadian team.

When Lynden has the ball: Junior running back Steven DiLorenzo looks like the second coming of Scott Noteboom. Extremely quick feet, and generally the fastest player on the field. He also has tremendous strength, and isn’t easy to bring down. Lynden has a ton of weapons for senior quarterback James Marsh to choose from.

Special Teams are special: Junior Marko Samoukovic has power and accuracy with his kickoffs and conversion attempts. Marsh is more than adequate as a punter, and cull pull of a fake at any time.

Leading rusher: DiLorenzo went from the third string to leading the county in rushing. He’s a kid that has worked tirelessly in the weight room over the summer, and it’s showing.
