SEHOME (2-3) AT CEDARCREST (3-2)

Time: 7 PM Friday

Site: Cedarcrest High School

When Sehome has the ball: The Mariners had very little trouble moving the ball last week, but had issues scoring while in the red zone. Jacob Kaepernick has thrown for more yards than any other player in Whatcom County this season, but has yet to have a 300-yard passing game. That could happen tonight! Especially, if the Red Wolves attempt to key on Dylan Roberts. Austin Roberts had a big week last game with six grabs for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

When Cedarcrest has the ball: Sehome’s defense can swarm to the football, as it combines great size with speed. Look for Brett Meggyesy to line up all over the secondary, usually on the strong side to make big plays. Safety Jay Travier is a ball-hawk, but has been great at making big tackles at the line of scrimmage. Linebacker Dawson Smith is an incredibly physical player and linemen Bryce Andrews and Rylie Bair can break through the line on a regular basis.

Statistical Progress: Brett Meggyesy leads the county with 28 receptions. In fact, he has caught 61 passes thus far in his career, which is good for third place in Sehome Mariner history. He only trails Taylor Rapp (76) and Cory Benson (69).
