LYNDEN (6-0) AT SEDRO WOOLLEY (3-3)
Time: 7 PM Friday
Site: Tom Mullen Field
When Lynden has the ball: The Lions will continue to feature both James Marsh and Brock Heppner at quarterback. Last week against Burlington-Edison they switched from quarterback to wide receiver every other series. They could also get a boost on the offensive line from getting left tackle Jacob Kettels back. His dominance has been unquestioned. Running back Eric Martin-Mann had had two big rushing weeks in a row, and they will continue to lean on him during this playoff push.
When Sedro Woolley has the ball: The Cubs have been spreading the ball out lately. Lynden can swarm to the ball as well as any team in the county. Defensive linemen Payton Scott, Kevin Antonio have low centers of gravity, and Kettels can take on multiple blockers at one time. This allows linebacker Bodie Human and Preston King to roam free and make tackles. Corner back Kobe Elsner leads the county with four interceptions.
Historical Matchup Stats: In 2000, the Lions beat the Cubs 38-18 and running back T.J. Busch carried the ball 25 times for 285 yards and two touchdowns.
