FERNDALE (2-5) AT STANWOOD (1-6)

Time: 7 PM Friday

Site: Bob Larson Stadium

When Ferndale has the ball: The Golden Eagles have been peaking as of late, and they are a scary team to play right now. They’re big, they’re strong and they’re angry. The return of Jacob Broselle was a shot in the arm that was needed, and the intricate Wing-T is being run better and better each week. Gader Fox and Bryan Ebe are the best backfield tandem in Whatcom County.

When Stanwood has the ball: Tremendous size everywhere. Defensive ends Brett Westford and Geirean Hatchett will try to contain the opposition between the hash marks, and that is where Darius Washington and Uriah Guillory will be waiting. Watiko Leighton picked up another interception last week, and Broselle and Sequoyah Julius are mainstays on the back end.

Climbing up the school-record list: Only four players in Ferndale school history have kicked over 100 extra points, the next player on that list is current kicker Daniel Stewart. He’s currently ranked 5th with 74.
