Meridian 8, Mount Baker 6
Although the Trojans didn’t take the lead until the top of the seventh inning, the formula of putting the ball in play and sticking with your bulldog on the mound worked for Meridian, and junior Bryce Johnson was in the middle of all of it. Offensively, he reached base four times, and his 5-hit complete game was stamped in the bottom of the seventh when he faced the top of the Mountaineer lineup, and struck them all out on 10 pitches. Each player in the Trojan starting lineup had a base hit. Sophomore Brady West led Baker with three hits, while Ethan Larson and Aidan Corning each had two-run singles in the first inning.

Isaac Paxton scored in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Zach Eisenberg single which gave LC the 5-3 lead. Lynden’s Lane Heeringa scored in the top of the sixth on an error, but no other runs were able to be scored off of relief pitcher Cole Moorlag, who saw his first action on the mound since the first game of the season.
