Mount Baker 13, Sehome 2
Mountaineer senior Marques Brown continued his dominance on the mound, striking out 15 Mariners and giving up just one hit, upping his record to 3-0. After the first two Sehome batters reached base in the second inning Brown struck out 11 of the next 12 batters. He also knocked in a pair of runners on a sharply hit line drive in the first inning. Junior catcher Davin Beason was 3-for-4 with four runs batted in, while sophomore third baseman Brady West and senior left fielder Toby Jefferson each reached base four times. Mariner senior Jacob Kaepernick picked up his team’s lone hit.

The high-octane offense of the Golden Eagles scored it’s lowest output of the season, but eight runs is still impressive and was enough to stay undefeated. A four-run second inning boosted Ferndale, and the Golden Eagles held the lead throughout after that. Sophomore first baseman Landen Hatchett led Ferndale with three hits, including a double, and sophomore Jake Mason went 2-for-3. Senior pitcher Aidan Roddel picked up his first win of the season, and senior Slater Whitaker threw five brilliant innings in relief, allowing three hits and striking out four. Junior second baseman Jaxon Kortlever picked up three of Blaine’s five total hits.

Production up and down the lineup (seven different players with a hit), coupled with great defensive play (zero errors), allowed the Lyncs to win their fourth game in a row. Senior first baseman Cole Moorlag was once again the catalyst at the top of the lineup for Lynden Christian, with four hits, three stolen bases and four runs scored. The Lyncs also got a pair of hits from infielders Shale Whittern and Charlie Terpstra, and sophomore Isaac Paxton pitched five tremendous relief innings to pick up his second victory of the year. Junior outfielder Tucker Harrison led the Trojans with a pair of hits, and junior pitcher Bryce Johnson struck out eight batters in four innings.

The Storm offense exploded for 15 runs in the final two innings, and Squalicum walked away with the big win over the Pioneers. Senior catcher Trent Miller hit a pair of doubles on his way to a three-hit performance in which he also knocked in four runs. Connor Brueske also had a pair of doubles, a single while scoring three runs himself. Sophomore pitcher Elijah Knowlton gave up just three hits and struck out nine in six innings of work.

Down 7-0 after two innings was just two much to overcome for the Red Raiders, but strong performances from Ethan Brimble and Wyatt Harris allowed for a few big innings in the middle of the game. Brimble was 2-for-2 with a double, and Harris also scored two runs.
