THE FEATURED FOUR
Jaxon Kortlever – Senior – Wide Receiver/Safety
One coach told me, “Kortlever could be the best athlete in our league (at the 1A level)”. That might be all you need to know. He has every tool to dominate, and big things are going to come his way. He will also be moved from cornerback to safety this season.
Gabe Cranford – Senior – Running Back/Outside Linebacker
Gang tackling, and wrapping up. A few musts when trying to stop Cranford when running the ball. After going with a committee at running back early last season, the Borderites found a gem with Cranford, and he’s back again to pick up the tough yards.
Spencer Dalry – Senior – Center/Inside Linebacker
One of many Borderites that got a lot of varsity playing time as a sophomore. The former tight end is now at center to do what is best for his team, and he will be back at middle linebacker for the third season in a row. A tremendous tackler that never quits on a play.
Scott Baldwin – Senior – Wide Receiver/Cornerback
Baldwin has shown a lot of promise over the years, and this could be a big season for him. Blaine only played four games last season, and he missed a chunk due to injury, but he’s back and healthy now. He should contribute in a big way in all three facets of the game.
Who will be Blaine’s break-out player?
Avery Dohner – Senior – Quarterback/Defensive End
Will it be Cole Thomas back at quarterback? Or, will it be Avery Dohner? I don’t know the answer just yet, but I’ve witnessed Dohner throw the deep ball, and it looks pretty good. Even if Thomas gets the nod, Dohner returns as one of the best defensive ends in the conference.
