Blaine 8, Ferndale 3
A seven-run first inning by the Borderites set the tone early, and Blaine was able to hold on for the rest of the game. It was a complete group effort offensively for the Lady Borderites, as Alexa Gutierrez, Tatum Cox and Brooklynn Henderson all had a pair of hits, while Gutierrez and Lauryn King each had two runs batted in. Cox also hit two triples. The Golden Eagles got homeruns from Jordyn Thompson and Mallory Butenschoen, but it wasn’t enough to come back all the way. Piper Nissen went the distance for Blaine, and struck out eight batters.

It was an eerily similar game to Monday. Almost an identical score, with a homerun early in the contest, and then strong pitching throughout. This time, it was freshman Ava Jeretzky’s time to shine. She went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a homerun and three runs batted in. She also got the start at pitcher, and threw five innings without giving up a hit. She struck out nine batters, but also walked eight. Junior Kaitlyn Rosenburg pitched the final inning to complete the combined no-hitter. Rosenburg also went 3-for 4, and Madie Valum had a pair of hits.
