THE FEATURED FOUR
Taivin VanDalen – Senior – Inside Linebacker
Perhaps no player in Whatcom County plays with as much reckless abandon as VanDalen. Tremendous size, speed and raw fury on the football field. He will be all over the field making plays, and the eleven on the other side better strap it up tight.
Case Zweegman – Senior – Defensive Line
When he was moved to the defensive line last season, it made a world of difference for the Lynden defense. You’re not going to out-smart him, and it will be very difficult to out-play him. He was a major reason why the Lions help Squalicum to just six points last season.
Isaiah Stanley – Junior – Wide Receiver
Another one of those sophomore sensations that vastly improved the Lynden passing game. He might not win a lot of sprinting titles, but his ability to run crisp routes and catch everything thrown his way will put him up with the elite pass-catchers in Lynden history.
Max Moore – Senior – Quarterback/Running Back/Safety
One of the best safeties in Whatcom County, and has bulked up over the offseason. A true ball-hawk that loves to hit. Offensively, he has filled in at quarterback, and you might see him at running back or wide receiver from time to time.
Who will be Lynden’s break-out player?
Lane Heeringa – Junior – Running Back/Inside Linebacker
I love choosing the “break-out” player for each school. Sometimes it’s a really tough decision, and sometimes you have a guy like Lane Heeringa. As soon as I saw him over the summer, I knew right away he would be a great one. A true difference maker, on both sides of the ball.
