THE FEATURED FOUR

Davin Beason – Senior – Center/Inside Linebacker

He comes into this season leading all Whatcom County active players in tackles, interceptions, forced fumbles, tackles for loss and fumble recoveries. He’s scary good. Last season’s Defensive Player of the Year, and he’s looking for more in 2021. Also, one of the best offensive lineman in the county, a three-year starter on both sides of the ball.

Jesse Sande – Senior – Running Back/Outside Linebacker/Punter

Mount Baker’s leading rusher last season, returns for more 44-rams this season. Physically, he has all the tools of a great Mountaineer running back, and he will be relied upon for his big play ability on the defensive side of the ball.

Ethan Larson – Junior – Left Guard/Defensive End

A returning starter at left guard, while also playing very well as a defensive end as a sophomore. I can see huge things for Larson in the years to come, as last season was just the tip of the iceberg.

Caleb Horsmon – Senior – Wing Back/Cornerback

One of just a few returning starts on defense, where he had two interceptions in just six games last season. He returns to lead the secondary, and also take over as the wing back in the Baker Wing-T offense.

Who will be Mount Baker’s break-out player?

Marcques George – Junior – Running Back/Outside Linebacker

Another tough runner coming through the Mount Baker system. Dives and traps galore with George. But, do I see him running for 1,000+ yards this season after just a small handful of carries as a sophomore. I don’t see why not.
