NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, SQUALICUM 0

The Pioneers stayed undefeated after topping the Storm in three highly contested sets, 25-23, 27-25 and 25-23. Lainey Kimball had a huge night with 21 kills and 19 digs, while Taylor Lentz added seven kills of her own at the net. Ellie Van Berkum led defensively with 25 digs and three aces, while Devin Coppinger handed out 30 assists. Nooksack Valley will be at Bellingham on Wednesday, and Squalicum (1-1) is hosting Burlington-Edison on Thursday.

MERIDIAN 3, ANACORTES 0

The Trojans also moved to 2-0 by defeating the Seahawks in three straight sets, 25-13, 25-23 and 25-23. Jolena Hoefer had a team-high nine kills to go along with her eight digs, and Jessica Pounder added eight kills. Finnley Claeys had a well-balanced night with 18 digs, six kills and an ace. Malaysia Smith dished out 21 assists to go with her 15 digs and three aces, and Avery Neal stood out defensively with 16 digs. Meridian will host Lynden Christian (1-1) on Wednesday.

LaVergne

MOUNT BAKER 3, LAKEWOOD 0

After a big first set (25-13), the Mountaineers (2-1) got a few close calls from Lakewood, but still managed to get the sweep, winning the next two sets 25-23 and 25-22. Grace LaVergne had a solid all-around game with six aces, five kills and 13 digs, and Taite Reardon had a team-high six kills. Mount Baker will host Anacortes (1-1) on Wednesday.
