Squalicum 2, Highline 0

Junior pitcher Elijah Knowlton showed that he was in mid-season form in the home opener as the fireballer struck out 14 batters while tossing a one-hit shutout against the Pirates. Knowlton also tripled in shortstop Connor Brueske in the second inning. Catcher Sam Stealy led the Storm with two hits.

Ferndale 12, Marysville-Pilchuck 6

The Golden Eagles continued to show what they did all of last year, scoring a lot of runs. Ferndale erupted for five runs in the third inning and never looked back. Junior Jake Mason led the barrage with three hits, while Andrew James and Elijah McCormick each had a pair of hits. Mason also picked up the victory on the mound, striking out nine while allowing just one run, and James belted a solo home run to centerfield in the sixth inning.

The Lions nearly played a perfect game in routing the Red Wolves. Senior shortstop Cade Slayton went 3-for-3 at the plate, including a two-run homerun. Senior Ryan Kleindel knocked in five runs and sophomore pitcher Lane Simonsen struck out six batters while picking up the victory. Junior Lincoln VanDiest threw two no-hit innings to close the game out.

The youthful Trojans picked up their first victory of the season with freshman pitcher Jonah Aase picking up the win on the mound, and fellow freshman third baseman Jaeger Fyfe collecting a pair of hits to lead the offense. Junior second baseman Hunter Jones also had two base hits, while catcher Ian Forbes, centerfielder Bryce Johnson and shortstop Daniel Short each scored a pair of runs.

The Wolverines scored in nearly every inning to pick up the win. Isaac Paxton and Lane Dykstra each threw three innings, and allowed just five total earned runs. The Lyncs picked up hits from Paxton, Joey VanHofwegen, Austin Engels, Jonah Terpstra and Carter Seigman.
