Borderite senior Anden Holley allowed just one hit over six innings as Blaine jumped on the Lyncs early, scoring three runs in the first two innings. Junior third baseman Axel Puls doubled and tripled, and senior shortstop Jaxon Kortlever knocked in two runs and stole three bases.

Borderite senior Aiden Vezzetti cruised to his third victory of the season in as many starts. He struck out nine and completed the five-inning contest. Axel Puls reached base four times, and raised his county-leading on-base percentage to .686. Anden Holley, Aiden Holley, Brady Castellano and Danny Michaud each scored a pair of runs. The Pioneers got runs from shortstop Jake Tresselt and catcher Nick Dykstra.

The Golden Eagles maintained the best record in Whatcom County behind another stellar performance on the mound by Jake Mason. The junior righty won his county-leading fourth game of the season, and he contributed to his own cause with two hits and two runs batted in. Sophomore first baseman Camden Raymond also had a pair of RBI’s, and senior third baseman Elijah McCormick scored two runs.

The Mountaineers combined for six runs in the fifth and sixth innings, but they fell one run short as the Lyncs held on to win the important 1A matchup. Junior relief pitcher Lane Dykstra put the Mountie fire out to pick up his first save of the season, and he also scored two runs of his own. Lynden Christian freshman Austin Engels knocked in three runs, and Mount Baker had two RBI’s a piece from sophomore first baseman Jesse Harward and sophomore outfielder Hayden Rosse, who tripled.

Sophomore pitcher Lane Simonsen picked up his third win of the season, and he allowed just three hits and struck out six. Lincoln Van Diest pitched two perfect innings to pick up the save, and three out of the four Lynden hits were for extra bases as the Lions scored all of their runs in the middle innings.

Oak Harbor 11, Sehome 3
Sehome junior catcher Carson Neff scored a run, knocked in a run and stole his county-leading 12th base, but it wasn’t enough as the Wildcats proved to be too much for the Mariners. Senior Aiden Harwick-Koolen slumped early in the season, but his bat has come around in the past few games, and he collected another couple of hits.
