The Borderites jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first inning, and held on to pick up the big win. The Golden Eagles powerful offense kept clawing back, and included home runs from senior Ryan Pelton and junior Landen Hatchett (his sixth HR of the season), but Ferndale ran out of innings. Blaine managed just four hits, but took advantage of five bases on balls, five hit batsmen and seven Golden Eagle errors.

Both teams scored four runs in the first inning, and the score remained tied until the bottom of the fourth when Lion catcher Kobe Baar scored on an error. The Lynden offense erupted in the bottom of the sixth inning with five runs, which ultimately gave Lynden it’s Whatcom County leading 17th win of the season.
