Landen Hatchett – Senior – Center/Defensive Line
The University of Washington bound center has all the tools to dominate. He even brings extra tools of intangibility to the table. Smart, strong, athletic… he has it all. On top of all that, he loves it. We are all lucky to have one more season to watch what could be the greatest center in Whatcom County high school football history.
Jake Mason – Senior – Tackle/Defensive End
Already has 20 sacks in his career, and that’s in just 15 games. Superior get-off as a defensive end, and can close on the opposing passer. Another special player that every offensive coordinator will have to account for.
Isaiah Carlson – Senior – Running Back/Outside Linebacker
Presuming he’s healthy, he’s the best back in the county, and one of the best in the state. Does it at an exceptional level on both sides of the ball. Speed, power, patience, vision, he has it all. An, nobody wants to get on the field and prove it more than him.
Conner Walcker – Junior – Quarterback/Wide Receiver/Safety
A tremendous overall athlete. He made huge plays last season at wide receiver, and is getting reps at quarterback in practice this season. If he plays QB, it will give Ferndale it’s first running quarterback in a while, if he’s at receiver, he’s going to be a matchup problem.
Who will be Ferndale’s break out player?
Zach Nielsen – Sophomore – Running Back/Safety
His energetic style will allow to make an impact immediately. Although just a sophomore, he started the last half of the season for Sehome at safety in 2021. He could get reps at both halfback and wingback, and should step right into a starting safety position. Game breaking kind of player.
