FERNDALE 3, MERIDIAN 1
The Golden Eagles won the first set 25-19, and the Trojans won the second 25-20, but it was Ferndale who stormed back to win the next two 25-21 and 25-16 at home on Monday night. It was two amazing defenses going at it, and leading the Golden Eagles in digs was senior Morgan Hayes with 28. She also had 14 kills and three aces. As a team, Ferndale had 15 aces on the evening, with Brooklyn Cagle and Aysia Mitchell obtaining four each. Madisyn Butenschoen was strong at the net with 16 kills, and Cagle dished out 46 assists to go along with her 13 digs. Meridian was led by Emry Claeys who had another double-double with 21 kills, 10 digs and an ace, and Avery Neal who dug out 18, while getting nine kills and an ace. Jessica Pounder had seven kills, five digs and three aces, Rainn Hull had 13 digs and Hayden Claeys handed out 36 assists to go along with her three kills and team-high six aces.
