Ferndale 10, Enumclaw 4

The Ferndale bats remained hot as the Golden Eagles supplied the power in a 10-4 victory. Senior centerfielder Dylan Strom went 2-for-4 and knocked in four runs, which gave him 37 career RBI’s. Senior catcher Andrew James crushed two doubles, and had three runs batted in, while senior third baseman Jordan Mason reached base four times with two base hits and two walks. Senior pitcher Jake Mason picked up the victory, his first of the season and the 12th of his career.

Nooksack Valley 5, Friday Harbor 3

The Pioneers scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning, which helped them pull away from the Wolverines for their first victory of the season. Junior Kasey Newton led at the plate, and on the mound, as he went 2-for 3 with a double and three runs batted in. He also allowed just two hits over five innings pitched while striking out nine. Bradley Blake pitched the final inning to pick up the save.

Lynden 8, Ridgefield 3

The Lions scored three in the top of the second to jump out to a lead, and then scored three in the final inning to give a cushion before coming away with the victory. Kael Stapleton threw five innings of relief to pick up the victory while senior center fielder Lane Heeringa totaled three runs batted in, two walks and two runs scored. River Langstraat and Kaedan Hermanutz each also scored a pair of runs.

Bellingham 6, Lynden Christian 5

The Bayhawks did it once again in walk-off fashion for the second night in a row, this time in the bottom of the 10th inning against the Lyncs. After James Armstong was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the tenth with one out, senior Liam Poulton-Claypool was sent in to pinch run for him who stole second base three pitches later. And then, on a 2-2 count, junior first baseman Jesse Harward hit a hard ground ball into left field which scored Poulton-Claypool, and elevated Bellingham’s record to 3-0. It was Harward’s third run batted in of the night, and he also went 4-for-4 in the game. The Lyncs were led offensively by Lane Dykstra who went 3-for-5, and Austin Engels who hit two doubles.

Down by four after four innings, the Storm erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the fifth to come away with their second victory of the season. Senior Eli Knowlton led the way offensively going 3-for-4 with three runs batted in, while Josh Kreta and and Cole Sumner each had a pair of hits, while Chase Andersen had a hit, walked twice, scored three runs and stole three bases. Kreta also pitched a scoreless two innings to close out the game while striking out five batters.

The Mountaineers scored twice in the bottom of the third when Elijah Washburn singled home Anthony Rabang and Brady West’s sacrifice fly brought home Landen Hanstead, but that was all the offense that Baker was able to supply. Washburn struck out three batters in two and 2/3 innings of relief.
