The Cougars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Lions eventually prevailed as River Langstraat pitched six innings in relief to secure his second win of the season. Senior first baseman Jesus Ortiz scored two runs for Lynden, while Bubba Parcher reached base three times, Kobe Baar doubled, scored and walked, and Lincoln VanDiest had an RBI single.

The mighty bats of the Golden Eagles came alive once again, this time to the tune of 13 runs. Talan Bungard crushed two triples and Lane Oostra ripped two doubles to lead the offensive attack for Ferndale. Bungard also had four runs batted in. Squalicum short stop Chase Andersen led the Storm with two hits.

When Pioneer sophomore third baseman Colby Martin drilled his first varsity homerun over the left field fence it gave Nooksack Valley a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. However, the Bayhawks scored in each and every inning following that. Right fielder James Armstrong led Bellingham with three runs batted in, while freshman short stop Kai Nelson reached base five times.

Sophomore second baseman Austin Engels went 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in to lead the Lyncs offensively, who have won five of their last seven ball games. Junior Brody Bouwman had two runs batted in, walked twice and picked up his county-leading third save on the season after striking out four batters in the final two innings of the game.

In a pitcher’s duel under the lights, it was a battle of sophomore short stops that faced each other on the mound with Jaeger Fyfe outlasted Ryder McGrath. Fyfe struck out seven batters and allowed three hits, while McGrath struck out 10 batters and allowed four hits. Ian Forbes and Tyrel Brooks had runs batted in for the victorious Trojans.

Borderite junior Kieran Markusen allowed just three hits, one unearned run and struck out six in the complete game effort, and still walked away with the tough-luck loss. Infielders Axel Puls and Grady Swinburson each doubled for Blaine, but weren’t able to come across to score.

Anacortes 12, Mount Baker 0
A nine-run first inning by the Seahawks allowed Anacortes to coast to victory as the Mountaineers were able to put together just three hits. Catcher Cameron Hesyck doubled for Mount Baker, while Elijah Washburn and Kamden Moa each singled.
