In a 2A District 1 play-in game, the Mariners bested the Red Wolves at home and will advance to the playoffs. Senior Jacob Gillig struck out 10 batters in the shut out victory, as Sehome scored all four of its runs in the first three innings. Senior third baseman Campbell Robbins had a pair of knocks, while Hudson Neff, Ryder McGrath and Ben Sefrit each had a run batted in.

Bellingham 7, Lakewood 6

The Bayhawks kept their season alive in a must-win game over the Cougars at Joe Martin Field. Bellingham took a 2-0 lead after the first inning, and Lakewood was able to tie it at two a few innings later. The Bayhawks scored twice more in the bottom of the third, and the Cougars put up four runs in the top of the fifth to gain a 6-4 advantage. However, Bellingham began the bottom of the fifth with a bang. Back-to-back doubles by Alden Scott and Ethan Brimble produced a run, which was followed up by an intentional walk to Jesse Harward. Lakewood was able to hold Bayhawks for a short while, and obtain a pair of outs, but a line-drive double by James Armstrong scored a pair of runs to give Bellingham the lead for good.

An early lead spelled doom for the Pioneers, who’s season came to a close on Wednesday night. The Pumas scored eight runs in the first two innings, which was just too much to overcome. Outfielders Kasey Newton and Mathew Blake scored runs for Nooksack Valley.
