  • Lynden Christian 65, Bellingham 51

In a battle of unbeatens, the Lyncs caught fire early on with mid-range jumpers and kept the pace throughout the entire game.

Senior guard Dawson Bouma hit 9-of-15 shots for 22 points to lead the Lyncs, while also dishing out four assists. Senior backcourt mate Gannon Dykstra also gave out four assists, while scoring 14 points and grabbing six rebounds.

Senior forward Kayden Stuit recorded another double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, and senior forward Jeremiah Wright played in his first game of the year following an injury during football season, and he came off the bench to score eight points.

The Bayhawks were led by the 14 points of junior forward Kincade VanHouten and senior guard Wyatt Stephan contributed with 12 points.

  • Lynden 86, Meridian 35

The Trojans were without some key players, including standout junior Talon Jenkins, and the Lions could do little wrong as they shot 61% from the floor at home.

Junior forward Brant Heppner was 11-of-15 from the field, and led his team with 25 points and six rebounds, and senior guard Anthony Canales poured in 15 points of his own.

Senior point guard Brady Elsner scored eight points, and led his team with nine assists.

Meridian senior guard Taran Burks led his team with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

  • Squalicum 69, Blaine 67

Tightly contested throughout, the Storm held a 24-20 lead after the first quarter, and a 40-33 lead at the half. However, the Borderites came out hot in the second half and took the lead in the third quarter, which ended with Blaine out in front, 56-55.

With less than a minute to go in the game, Squalicum was up 67-66 and the Borderites attempted a three-point shot that was partially blocked by junior Marcus Nixon, and that was followed up by a layup that Nixon created for himself with 25 seconds to go.

A foul took place on the following possession, and Blaine junior Josiah Weeda made one of the two shots, but the Borderites regained possession after the second shot with 13 seconds left in the game.

The Storm defense played tight around the perimeter and Jesse Deming’s three-ball from the left wing was missed as time expired.

Nixon led his team with 25 points, six rebounds and three assists, and Weeda finished with 26 points for Blaine.

  • Nooksack Valley 44, Seattle Academy 41 (OT)

A defensive battle, the Pioneers were down 38-35 with five seconds left in the game.

The Cardinal student section began chanting “I believe that we will win” over and over again during the timeout that had previously been taken.

Then, with less than a second remaining, Caden Heutink was fouled while shooting a three-point shot, and was sent to the line. Cool as a cucumber, the junior point guard buried all three shots to send the game into overtime.

The defensive effort in overtime, and clutch shooting brought home the victory for Nooksack Valley.

Heutink led his team with 11 points and six assists, while sophomore Cole Coppinger came off the bench to score nine points and grab seven rebounds.

Junior center Brady Ackerman also had five points, six rebounds and seven blocked shots.

  • Glacier Peak 68, Ferndale 45

The Golden Eagles hung with the Grizzlies in the first half, but a 19-8 run by Glacier Peak allowed the Grizzlies to pull away in the second half.

Senior guard Bhavnoor Grewal shot 6-of-9 from the floor, and finished with a team-high 14 points.

Junior forward Jonah Brillowsky scored nine points and grabbed eight boards.
