THURSDAY – 12/28

  • Holy Names Academy 48, Ferndale 37

The Golden Eagles held a slim 10-9 lead after the first quarter, and the game was tied 19-19 at the half.

The Cougars then took a 30-29 lead after three quarters, and with neither team pulling away to that point, Holy Names Academy started knocking down some outside shots in the final period to help them capture the victory.

Senior forward Mallory Butenschoen led Ferndale with 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals, all of which were team-highs.

Sophomore forward Jillea Fox scored eight points, and senior guard Naomi Stanley finished with seven points and three assists.

 

FRIDAY – 12/29

  • Marysville-Getchell 33, Bellingham 28

The Bayhawks held a 24-18 advantage at halftime, but managed just four points the rest of the way before falling on the road to the Chargers in a non-conference game.

Junior guard Malia Hanks finished with nine points, six rebounds and four steals to lead Bellingham.

Freshman forward Merritt Jensen shot 4-of-6 from the floor to score eight points to go along with her team-high nine rebounds, and sophomore forward Mary Lockhart added seven points, five boards and three assists.
