  • Ferndale 44, Meridian 32

It was a tightly contested game throughout the evening. In fact, the Trojans held a slight advantage after each of the first three quarters.

However, a three-pointer made by Golden Eagle senior Naomi Stanley right before the buzzer at the end of the third quarter gave Ferndale the momentum going into the final period, in which the Golden Eagles outscored Meridian 16-3 to stay undefeated in conference play.

Sophomore guard Kayla Washington led the way in the scoring column with 12 points, while sophomore forward Jillea Fox added 11.

The Trojans were led by the nine points of senior Allie Richter.

  • Lynden Christian 54, Mount Vernon 26

The Lyncs jumped out ahead early, and held a 31-11 lead at the half.

Senior center Tabby DeJong had her strongest game of the young season as she led her team with 17 points, including a big second quarter where she outscored the Bulldogs herself, 8-4.

Sophomore point guard enjoyed another fine game with 12 points, and sophomore guard Estela Hernandez buried three 3-pointers which gave her nine points.

  • Sedro-Woolley 51, Bellingham 32

The Bayhawks outscored the Cubs in the second half, but due to a 22-point explosion by Sedro-Woolley in the second quarter alone, it was enough for Bellingham to pick up the road victory.

Sophomore Mary Lockhart and freshman Merritt Jensen both had big games down low. Lockhart led the Bayhawks in scoring with 11 points, while also grabbing nine rebounds, and Jensen snagged a game-high 14 boards to go with her nine points.

Junior guard Malia Hanks scored eight points, had six steals and five rebounds.
