  • Ferndale 53, Mount Baker 34

Ferndale won the opening tip-off, took an early 9-3 lead, and didn’t look back.

The Golden Eagles jumped way out in front during the second quarter, outscoring the Mountaineers 17-3. Ferndale senior Mallory Butenschoen scored 13 points during that quarter and would end the night with a team-high 21 points.

The Mountaineers were led in scoring by sophomore, Natalie VanLiew, who recorded 15 points, including a trio of three-pointers in the second half.

  • Nooksack Valley 74, Lakewood 16

The Pioneers, again, got off to a fast start, with their defense turning into quick offense.

Senior guard Devin Coppinger scored 23 points in the first half, and finished the game with 28, to go along with her 10 rebounds and three steals.

Senior forward Lainey Kimball finished with 12 points, 15 rebounds and five assists while sophomore guard Payton Bartl scored 11 points and senior forward Tana Hoekema had 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

  • Tahoma 44, Lynden Christian 34

The Lyncs found themselves behind 21-13 at the half, and they outscored the Bears 12-6 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to pick up the non-conference road win.

Senior center Tabby DeJong led Lynden Christian with 10 points, and she was followed up by Allison Shumate who finished with six points.
