  • Lynden Christian 66, Blaine 21

The Lyncs’ defensive effort was supreme and allowed them to get out ahead early.

Lynden Christian totaled 12 steals and five blocks, and was led by the 19 points of junior forward Allison Shumate. She was on target all night, as she shot 6-of-9 from the floor, and 7-of-8 from the foul line.

Sophomore guard Ella Fritts finished with 16 points and five steals for the Lyncs.

The Borderites were led by seniors Deja Dube and Jordyn Vezzettti, each of whom scored nine points.

  • Granite Falls 59, Mount Baker 50

The Mountaineers couldn’t miss right out of the gate, and made their first seven field goal attempts, and they led 26-21 at the half.

However, a strong third quarter by the Tigers flipped the lead in their favor before they came away with the non-conference home win.

Senior forward Jenna Wineinger had a huge game, as she scored 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting, and grabbed five rebounds.

Sophomore forward Samiya Powell had 11 points, and sophomore guard Natalie VanLiew finished with eight points, four steals, two assists and two blocks.

  • Lake Stevens 69, Sehome 41

The Vikings used their size advantage to out-rebound the Mariners 44-17 and defeat Sehome in the non-conference game.

Senior guard Emmy Hart continued her tremendous shooting this week by draining five of her 10 3-point attempts as she led her team with 15 points. Senior forward Natalie Brewer finished with nine points and seven rebounds, and both her and Hart each had three steals.

Senior guard Madi Cooper scored nine points and dished out four assists.
