The Golden Eagles and the Spartans played even for the entire first half.
The score was tied at 10-10 after the first quarter, and it was also tied 24-24 at halftime. However, Stanwood came out strong in the third quarter and outscored Ferndale 23-7, and continued to run away with the game in the final quarter.
Senior forward Mallory Butenschoen hit a pair of there-pointers and three free throws to lead her team in scoring with nine points.
Sophomore forward Jillea Fox scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds and senior guard Maleah Singson snagged team-high eight rebounds to go with her five points, three assists and two steals.
