MERIDIAN 3, BLAINE 0

E. Bernardy

Before the Trojans took the court, the school honored the first ever Meridian volleyball team from 50 years ago. During the match, the 1973 team sat center court to watch the 2023 team defeat Blaine 25-16, 25-13 and 25-16.

Zaddack

The Trojans had a hitting percentage of .419 has a team, and it was led up front by freshman Eden Bernardy and senior Emry Claeys who each had 15 kills. Bernardy also had a team-high 16 digs, while Claeys posted a team-high five aces.

Junior Rylan Bernardy dug out 12 to go with her three aces, and junior Grace Wells finished with 33 assists to go along with her three aces.

The Borderites were led by senior Teya Zaddack who posted nine kills, 11 digs, one block and three aces. All were team-highs.

Senior Deja Dube had four kills, while junior Kaitlyn Harrington and senior Bella Vezzetti combined for 19 assists.

 

LYNDEN 3, MOUNT BAKER 0

Koetje

The Lions remained undefeated in conference play by defeating the Mountaineers on the road 25-8, 25-4 and 25-6.

Cohn

Senior Haylee Koetje had a double-double with 11 digs and a season-high 18 kills. Senior Grace Rice dished out 27 assists and senior Mya VanderYacht had an incredible 13 aces.

Mount Baker junior Annalee Cohn had four assists and an ace, and sophomore Amariah Nutting had a pair of kills and a dig.

 

NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, SQUALICUM 0

Kimball

The Pioneers went on the road to defeat the Storm 25-21, 21-17 and 21-19.

Senior Lainey Kimball delivered 22 kills, six digs and a block, while senior Tana Hoekema and sophomore Grace DeHoog each had six kills. DeHoog also had seven digs, and Hoekema had three digs and two blocks.

Paz

Sophomore Payton Bartl served up four aces gave out 32 assists, and senior Juliana Gimmaka had a team-high 16 digs. Sophomores Annie Stremler and Avery Juergens each had a pair of aces.

Squalicum sophomore Jolie Paz had a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Gwen Foy had a team-high 11 digs, and junior Jazzy Bersola finished with 20 assists.

Seniors Chloe Nguyen and Sophie Ferris each had two aces, and senior Liv Swayne led her team with two blocks.
