BLAINE 3, BELLINGHAM 1
After being defeated handedly 25-11, the Borderites came back to win the next three sets on the road, 25-23, 26-24 and 25-21.
Blaine senior Teya Zaddack had a double-double with 16 kills and 18 digs, which went along with her ace and block. Senior Deja Dube also had a huge night with 22 digs, nine kills and an ace.
Sophomore Carly Saunders had her best game of the year with eight kills and a block while setters Bella Vezzetti and Kaitlin Harrington combined for 41 assists, and Harrington also contributed with seven kills, 10 digs and two blocks.
Bellingham was led by senior Meysha Riviere who had 40 assists, two digs and an ace, and senior Chayse Flick-Williams totaled 17 kills, three aces and an assist. Sophomore Mary Lockhart was strong in the middle once again with three blocks, while also putting up three kills and two aces.
LYNDEN 3, OAK HARBOR 0
The Lions remained unbeaten in conference play by defeating the Wildcats 25-20, 25-15 and 25-7.
Senior Haylee Koetje had eight kills and zero errors on the night, and hit .350 along the way. She also had three aces, and senior Mya VanderYacht dug out 19.
Setter Grace Rice kept up the great work with 27 assists, while senior Ashley Shumate had 17 kills and 11 digs, and freshman Finley Parcher had seven kills while hitting .450.
NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, SEDRO-WOOLLEY 1
After splitting the first two sets, the Pioneers won the last two sets 25-19 and 25-22 to come away with the hard fought victory.
Sophomore Grace DeHoog and freshman Elizabeth DeLange combined for 17 kills, and senior Lainey Kimball put up 14 kills, 13 digs and six aces.
“We struggled all night trying to get in a rhythm,” Nooksack Valley coach Katie Emmons said. “Not the prettiest match, but the girls did a good job rallying around each other.”
Sophomore setter Payton Bartl gave out 32 assists, senior Juliana Gimmaka dug out 19, while senior Tana Hoekema had six kills, four aces, four digs and two assists.
BURLINGTON-EDISON 3, LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 0
The Tigers continued to roll on this season by defeating the Lyncs in three straight sets.
The Lyncs were led up front by senior Tabby DeJong who had four kills, while Ella Fritts gave out nine assists.
