Claeys

It was a frantic scene in downtown Laurel as the Trojans had to come back from being down two sets to one to ultimately take the match over the Seahawks.

Senior Emry Claeys came up huge down the stretch of the final set with multiple kills in a row to end the night, and she ended with 34 kills, 22 digs and two aces, while freshman Eden Bernardy had 13 kills, 21 digs and five aces, and sophomore Gracie Pap had 10 kills and an ace.

They were all set up by junior Grace Wells who dished out 53 assists over the five sets, while also picking up seven digs.

Junior Rylan Bernardy totaled 13 digs and four aces, and freshman Amelia Koning also served up four aces.

 

FERNDALE 3, LAKEWOOD 0

Gilday

The Golden Eagles continued their hot streak on Tuesday night by defeating the Cougars in three straight sets.

Senior Tia Gilday was strong up front with 11 kills and three blocks, while sophomore Katrina Ferry had a team-high 16 digs to go with her pair of aces.

Senior Mallory Butenschoen had another great overall match with seven kills, 15 digs and three aces and freshman Brooklyn Larrabee was all over the court with 28 assists, four aces, five digs and a kill.

 

SEHOME 3, SQUALICUM 0

Winter

The Mariners also continued their hot streak by defeating their cross-town rivals 25-10, 25-11 and 25-16.

The Mariners had a strong outing from their serve receive members Audrey Aarstol, Makenna Andrews, Molly Burfeind and Hayden Niewiadomski, with an overall 2.3 average, while Anya Winter and Leah Lockwood combined for 10 kills in the middle.

Niewwiadomski added another double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs, while Winter added a team-high four aces.

 

MOUNT VERNON 3, MOUNT BAKER 1

Lewis

The Mountaineers played one of their best matches of the season, but couldn’t hold off the Bulldogs after thy split the first two sets.

Junior Annalee Cohn led with 17 assists, four digs and three kills, while sophomores Amariah Nutting and Maddi Lewis each posted six kills.

Lewis also racked up three blocks on the evening, while junior Dakota Jimmie had 10 digs.
