FERNDALE 3, MOUNT BAKER 0

Ferry

The Golden Eagles moved to 6-4 in the conference by defeating the Mountaineers in three straight sets at home, 25-11, 25-17 and 25-8.

Lewis

Ferndale was led by sophomore Katrina Ferry and her 17 digs. Freshman Brooklyn Larrabee had four aces, and gave out 25 assists, which set up senior Mallory Butenschoen who had eight kills.

Junior Amelie McKeon had five blocks, and she was joined up front by senior Tia Gilday who had four kills and juniors Olivia Copps and Gabby Lenssen who had three kills a piece.

Mount Baker got strong contributions from sophomore Maddi Lewis who had five kills, seven digs, one ace and one block, as well as junior Annalee Cohn who finished with eight assists, two digs, an and a kill.

 

LYNDEN 3, MERIDIAN 0

Shumate

In a battle between two great Whatcom County teams, the Lions proved every bit of their worth on senior night by defeating the Trojans 25-6, 25-16 and 25-14.

Once again it was the lethal attack of the outside hitters by Lynden as seniors Ashley Shumate and Haylee Koetje combined for 19 kills and 23 digs. They were set up all evening by senior Grace Rice who finished with 28 assists.

Freshman Finley Parcher finished with six kills, while senior Ava Langstraat had five and sophomore Rian Stephan had four. Senior Mya VanderYacht finished with 13 digs.

Meridian was led by junior Rylan Bernardy who had 12 digs and two aces. Senior Emry Claeys had seven kills and five digs, and Junior Gracie Wells had 14 assists, two digs and an ace.

 

BURLINGTON-EDISON 3, SEHOME 2

Burfeind

In the match of the evening the Tigers outlasted the Mariners. Sehome won the first two out of three sets, but Burlington-Edison was able to come back and win the final two.

Strong defense led the way for the Mariners, who totaled 95 digs in the grueling match. Senior Molly Burfeind led with 28 digs, while also serving up three aces. Sophomore Makenna Andrews also had three aces, and she dug out 17, and senior Audrey Aarstol had 12 digs over her own.

Sophomore Hayden Niewiadomski was second on the team with 18 digs while also leading with 18 kills. Junior Emmy Lee had 32 assists, 11 digs and six kills while junior Leah Lockwood had four kills and three blocks.
