NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, BELLINGHAM 0

Bartl

It was a sweep, but it was highly contested, as the Pioneers beat the Bayhawks 25-22, 25-23 and 25-22 at home.

Senior Tana Hoekema had a team-high 13 kills and four blocks to lead up front, while sophomore Payton Bartl dished out 30 assists.

Knutsen

Senior Cailyn Likkel also had four blocks, while senior Lainey Kimball posted 12 kills, 17 digs and four aces.

Bellingham was led by senior Chayse Flick-Williams who had nine kills, and sophomore Jayda Knutsen who had seven kills and two aces. Sophomore Mary Lockhart had three kills and four blocks.

 

LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 3, SEDRO-WOOLLEY 0

Johnson

Malia Johnson had a great overall match as she helped the Lyncs win in three straight sets, 25-14, 27-25 and 25-20.

The LC junior finished with 12 kills, four aces, 22 digs and a block. Junior Audrey Ellingboe had 23 digs to help defensively, and sophomore Ella Fritts gave out 15 assists.

“The girls did a great job of coming back in the second set,” Lyncs coach Kristy Van Egdom said. “They were able to do their job well as a team.”

 

OAK HARBOR 3, BLAINE 0

Vezzetti

The Wildcats came up north and defeated the Borderites 25-20, 25-17 and 25-17.

Bella Vezzetti and Kaitlyn Harrington each had 11 assists and a block, and seniors Teya Zaddack and Deja Dube combined for 16 of their team’s 22 kills. The senior pair also led in digs, Dube with nine and Zaddack with eight.
