Blaine 8, Burlington-Edison 1

The Borderites snapped their three-game losing streak by defeating the Tigers at home. Blaine scored three in the second inning, and followed it up by scoring four in the third inning to jump out to a big lead. Senior first baseman Alejandro Moser-Hernandez and freshman third baseman Aaron Garza each had two hits including a double to lead the offense, while senior pitcher Kieran Markusen allowed just five hits and struck out five batters to pick up his Whatcom County leading fourth victory of the season.

The Lyncs offense got going again and it helped the team get back above .500. Junior second baseman Austin Engels hit two doubles and scored two runs to lead the offense, while senior shortstop Jonah Terpstra also added two hits, including a triple. Sophomore Eli Maberry struck out six batters and allowed just two hits over six innings of work. The Mariners got hits from Ryder McGrath and Hudson Neff.

Nooksack Valley 8, Mount Baker 1

Pioneer senior second baseman Jesse Tresselt had three hits and sophomore right fielder Landon Stauffer drove in three runs as Nooksack Valley pushed its record to above .500. Senior pitcher Eddy Cerda struck out nine batters and gave up just three hits in the complete game effort to pick up his second win of the season. The Mountaineers got hits from Magnus Melland, Braven Nason and Braeden Scott.

Bellingham 5, Squalicum 0

The Bayhawks led 1-0 after four inning of play, but they pushed across four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the commanding lead. Bellingham got a pair of hits from senior Owen Rasmussen as well as sophomores Kai Nelson and Joe Harward. Rasmussen also went six innings on the mound. Striking out four and allowing just two hits, he lowered his ERA to 1.40, and picked up third win of the season. The Storm got hits from seniors Dylan Johnson and Josh Kreta.

Mount Vernon 3, Lynden 2

Senior Kael Stapleton did everything he could for his team to try and remain unbeaten. He scored both of his team’s runs, and pitched the complete game, but was bested by a single run against the Bulldogs on the road. Senior Cooper Moore and sophomore Matthew Carroll drove in the two runs for the Lions. Stapleton struck out seven batters, but gave up all three of the Mount Vernon runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Anacortes 4, Ferndale 3

Defensive miscues was the story for the Golden Eagles who were narrowly defeated at home by the Seahawks. Senior pitcher Camden Raymond suffered his second loss, despite not allowing an earned run all season. Ferndale got a pair of hits from sophomore Carson Brown, and a single from senior Colton Stenvers. The Golden Eagles led 3-2 after three innings, but Anacortes scored a pair of runs in the top of the fourth.

Sedro-Woolley 9, Meridian 2

The Trojans led 2-0 after three innings, but the Cubs erupted for six runs in the bottom of the fourth and shut Meridian down the rest of the way. The Trojans got hits from juniors Jonah Aase and Lincoln Hoefer, as well as freshman Pierce Brzozowski.
