Senior right-hander Kieran Markusen became the first pitcher in the county to pick up his second victory of the young season, and he did it in dominating fashion. He faced 21 batters in six innings, and struck out 15 of them, allowed just two hits and didn’t walk a batter. He also surpassed 100 strikeouts in his varsity career. Freshman third baseman Aaron Garza knocked in two runs and also struck out two batters in his one inning of relief on the mound. The Borderites are now 3-0 on the season.
