Pioneer sophomore Evan Brown homered in the first inning, and moved from the outfield to the mound halfway through the final inning to pick up the save in a highly contested ball game. Brown’s homerun came one pitch after junior first baseman Cole Bauman doubled to left field which scored senior Kasey Newton. Newton also doubled later in the game and got the win on the mound as he went five innings and struck out seven batters. The Borderites were led offensively by junior Evan Yates and senior Diego Gutierrez who each had a pair of hits.

The Trojans jumped out to an early 4-1 lead after two innings, and scored three more runs in the final two innings to grab the road conference win. Freshman pitcher Nate Payne picked up his fourth win of the season as he scattered six hits through five-plus innings of work. Outfielders Tyson Timmer and Tristan Wang each doubled while Silas Berschauer drove in three runs and Jacob Amundson scored three runs.

Golden Eagle sophomore Fenton Vasak struck out five batters and gave up just one hit as he picked up his team-leading fourth win of the season. He also helped out his own cause by doubling in two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Ferndale finished the second inning with 10 runs scored. Senior designated hitter Greydon Radke also knocked in three runs for the Golden Eagles.

Junior second baseman Austin Engels went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs to power the Lyncs past the Mountaineers on the road. Senior infielders Jonah Terpstra and Brody Bouwman each had a pair of hits and combined for five runs batted in, and sophomore outfielders Eli Maberry and Jaxon Huleatt each scored three runs. Sophomore pitcher Treyson Johnson allowed just two hits and struck out five batters on his way to picking up the complete game victory. Mount Baker senior Braven Nason scored two of his team’s three runs.

A two-out single by freshman Gordy Bedlington scored junior Jaydin Oaks in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 4-4, but the Cubs were able to score in the top of the ninth inning to take the lead and eventually win the game. Senior pitcher Lane Simonsen struck out eight batters in his seven innings of work and took the no-decision. Oaks led the way offensively with three hits and two runs scored.

The Wildcats led 2-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, and the Mariners battled back with a triple off the bat of junior Ryder McGrath which scored sophomore Hudson Neff. Junior Grady Bernhard then drove in McGrath to tie the game up. Oak Harbor was able to put across a run in the top of the eighth inning, and Sehome was unable to answer. Neff led with two hits, and sophomore pitcher Keegan Glennon gave up six hits and struck out six batters in his six innings of work.

The Storm failed to pick up their first win of the season as the mighty Bulldogs showed their power at home. Squalicum got base hits from seniors Brady Scammell and Colby Lewis, as well as sophomore Henry Ingersoll.
