Sehome 6, Mount Baker 4
The Mariners survived a scare in the top of the sixth inning when the Mountaineers scored four runs to make it a one-run ball game, and they picked up the home win. Sophomore pitcher Keegan Glennon allowed just five hits and struck out nine batters to pick up his first win of the season, and sophomore Hudson Neff nabbed his second save. Mount Baker senior Braven Nason allowed three hits and struck out nine batters but took the loss.

Meridian 9, Ferndale 8
In one of the most exciting games of the year, the Golden Eagles jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first inning, and the Trojans combatted with a four-run third inning to take a 6-3 lead. Ferndale scored five in the following inning to regain control, and Meridian tied it up in the top of the fifth. The score remained tied at 8-8 going into the final inning when Trojan senior Ian Forbes stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and one out and drove a ball deep enough to left field to score junior Tristan Wang from third base on a sacrifice fly. The Golden Eagles were able to get one base runner on in the bottom of the seventh, but he never reached scoring position.

Senior pitcher Kieran Markusen proved his ace status by striking out 10 batters while walking just one and allowing two hits in six innings of work as the Borderites shut the Cougars out at home. Markusen also drove in a run for Blaine, along with seniors Grady Swinburnson and Alejandro Moser-Hernandez.

The Lions put it all together with great offense, defense and pitching to grab their 14th win of the season. Senior pitcher Austin Tolsma was incredibly efficient as he threw just 63 pitches over six innings to grab the shutout victory. Lynden got a pair of hits from seniors Kael Stapleton and Cooper Moore as well as sophomore Matthew Carroll, and also got three runs batted in from freshman Gordy Bedlington. Stapleton also swiped his Whatcom County leading 23rd bag of the season. The Storm got hits from junior Ben Hebert and sophomore Henry Ingersoll.

The Bayhawks got on the board first, but the Cubs scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and never let go of the lead. Senior centerfielder Joe Toof had three hits and drove in a run to lead Bellingham’s offense, which also got hits from sophomores Kai Nelson, Joe Harward and Eric Helfield.

Mount Vernon 8, Lynden Christian 3
The Lyncs scored all three of their runs in the first inning when sophomore Treyson Johnson drove a bases loaded double to the fence, and the powerful Bulldogs proved to be too much throughout the rest of the game. Lynden Christian’s other hit of the game came from sophomore Sam Kok.

Oak Harbor 10, Nooksack Valley 3
The Wildcats scored at least one run in each of the first six innings as they methodically put away the Pioneers on the road. Nooksack Valley out-hit Oak Harbor but committed four errors. Senior Eddy Cerda put in five innings on the mound and also led his team with three hits. Sophomore left fielder Mathew Blake drove in two runs for the Pioneers.
