Lynden 6, Sehome 5

The Lions held a 5-0 lead after five innings, but the Mariners stormed back to score five runs in the top of the sixth inning, which was aided by a two-run double to right field by freshman Gunnar Anderson. It remained tied until the final inning when senior Kael Stapleton led off the bottom of the seventh with a bunt single. He then advanced to second base on a passed ball, and then stole third base. With two outs he scored the winning run when senior River Langstraat singled up the middle. Lynden junior catcher Tristan Thomas led his team with two hits. Sehome sophomore Keegan Glennon struck out eight batters in his 6-plus innings of work.

The Golden Eagles evened their record to 2-2 on the season behind the stellar pitching performance of Camden Raymond. The senior southpaw threw a three-hit shutout against one of the top offensive teams in the conference while also knocking a triple that scored two runs. Ferndale sophomore Fenton Vasak doubled in a pair of runs as well. The Lyncs got hits from junior Austin Engels and sophomores Jaxon Huleatt and Sam Kok.

The Bayhawks pushed their record to above .500 by defeating the Mountaineers at home. Senior Owen Rasmussen gave up just one hit and struck out nine in his complete game victory. Senior center fielder Joe Toof had an offensive outburst with three hits, including a triple, two runs batted in and two runs scored, and senior third baseman Jake Troost belted two hits and had two runs scored. Mount Baker’s lone hit came off the bat of sophomore right fielder Toga Tigilau.

Oak Harbor 3, Meridian 2

The Wildcats pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Trojans. Junior Jonah Aase pitched the first seven innings for Meridian, but he hit the pitch limit and couldn’t continue into the eighth. He did strike out 13 batters and allowed just three hits and two runs. The Trojans scored in the second inning when junior Tristan Wang hit a sacrifice fly to score senior Silas Berschauer. A base hit to right field by senior Ian Forbes in the top of the fifth inning scored freshman Trey Alexander for Meridian’s second run of the game.

Anacortes 5, Blaine 2

The Borderites dropped their second game in a row as they battled the Seahawks at home. Blaine got a pair of hits from seniors Grady Swinburnson and Mason Akre but they couldn’t stop the offensive firepower of Anacortes which racked up 11 hits.

Mount Vernon 16, Nooksack Valley 1

After a scoreless first inning, the Bulldogs scored in every inning that followed as they defeated the Pioneers. Sophomore right fielder Landon Stauffer led the Nooksack Valley offense with a single and a double.

Lakewood 10, Squalicum 0

The Storm reached base 10 times but were unable to score in the road game against the Cougars. Senior center fielder Brady Scammell led the way with two hits and three stolen bases, while Squalicum also got hits from seniors Colby Lewis and Josh Kreta. Junior pitcher Ben Hebert struck out three batters over four innings.
