Lion senior Austin Tolsma has had some big offensive moments this season, but yesterday it was his pitching that became his biggest moment of the season as he twirled a no-hitter against the Mountaineers while striking out nine batters. Senior shortstop River Langstraat led offensively as he went 3-for-4 with a double and four runs batted in. Senior Kael Stapleton also drove in two runs while Tolsma and sophomore Matthew Carroll each scored two runs. Mount Baker’s Magnus Melland struck out three batters in three innings of relief.

The Borderites broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning by scoring two runs, but with two outs the Trojans took advantage of four Blaine errors and were able to score five runs to take the lead and eventually win the game. Senior Silas Berschauer and freshman Landon Rowley each had a pair of runs batted in to lead the Meridian offense while senior Ian Forbes and junior Jonah Aase each scored twice. Borderite freshman Aaron Garza led his team with two base hits.

Pioneer junior Colby Martin racked up three hits and three runs scored to help power Nooksack Valley past the Storm. Senior Jesse Tresselt and sophomore Mathew Blake each had a pair of hits as well. Senior Eddy Cerda scattered five hits and struck out four in his complete game victory for the Pioneers. Squalicum was led offensively by junior Ben Herbert who had two hits and senior Colby Lewis who hit a double and scored two runs.

The Golden Eagles led 6-4 after five innings of play, but the Tigers pushed across six more runs in the final two innings to steal the road victory. Defense was again a struggle for Ferndale as six errors were committed, five of which happened in the final two innings. Sophomores Fenton Vasak and Braylon O’Breen each had a pair of hits for the Golden Eagles with Vasak adding a triple and O’Breen knocking in two runs. Junior shortstop Talan Bungard doubled and scored three runs, and senior Camden Raymond doubled and walked twice.

Oak Harbor 7, Bellingham 2
A five-run fourth inning by the Wildcats put the game out of reach as the Bayhawks dropped their third game in a row. Senior center fielder Joe Toof finished with two doubles and two runs batted in to lead the Bellingham offense, which also got singles from senior Reece Ficklin and sophomores Kai Nelson and Joe Harward.

Mount Vernon 4, Sehome 0
The conference-leading Bulldogs got the win, but were held to half of their average of runs per game thanks to the solid pitching and defense of the Mariners. Sophomore Hudson Neff pitched into the seventh inning and was able to keep Sehome’s chances alive by getting many hitters to fly out. Sophomore shortstop Gunnar Tweit reached base three times with two singles and a walk to lead the Mariner offense, which also got hits from junior first baseman Grady Bernhard and freshman designated hitter Michael Ilyin.

Anacortes 10, Lynden Christian 0
The Seahawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings, and the Lyncs’ offense was never able to get off the ground. Lynden Christian sophomore Eli Maberry finished with two hits, while the Lyncs also got base hits from juniors Austin Engels and Jayden Huleatt as well as sophomore Treyson Johnson.
