Lynden 4, Nooksack Valley 1

The Lions got on the board first when Cooper Moore’s groundout scored Gordy Bedlington from third base in the first inning. The Pioneers answered in the top of the fourth when Cole Bauman singled into left field to score Kasey Newton. Lynden scored three times in the bottom of the fifth Kael Stapleton and Bedlington reached to begin the inning, and then promptly stole third and second. Two groundouts followed, which scored each runner, and a single by Lane Simonsen drove home Dane Marti later in the inning.

The Borderites out-hit the Lyncs 8-3, but five errors did Blaine in as Lynden Christian scored three runs in the final two innings to take the lead and capture the win on the road. Sophomore third baseman Sam Kok led LC with two hits, a run batted in and a run scored, and senior pitcher Jonah Terpstra had another efficient outing as he threw 77 pitches in the complete game victory. Senior first baseman Alejandro Moser-Hernandez had three hits for Blaine, who also got a pair of doubles from junior catcher Evan Yates.

Bellingham 3, Sehome 2

Senior designated hitter Jake Troost’s bases loaded single with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning scored Kai Nelson and gave the Bayhawks the thrilling win at home over their city rivals. Both starting pitchers had superb games as Bellingham senior Owen Rasmussen struck out 11 batters and gave up just four hits before hitting the pitch limit in the eighth inning, and Sehome sophomore Hudson Neff struck out five batters and allowed five hits before hitting his pitch limit with one out to go in the bottom of the ninth inning. Bayhawk sophomore catcher Joe Harward finished with three hits to lead his team, and the Mariners were led offensively by junior first baseman Grady Bernhard who drove in two runs.

Meridian 10, Mount Baker 0

The Trojan offense got going in the bottom of third when it scored four runs, and Meridian rolled to victory after that. Freshman third baseman Trey Alexander led his team with two hits and three runs scored, and the Trojans also got a pair of runs batted in from seniors Jacob Amundson and Ian Forbes, as well as junior Jonah Aase. Senior pitcher Silas Berschauer allowed four hits and struck out eight batters to pick up the shutout victory. The Mountaineers got a pair of hits from sophomore shortstop Gavin Sternhagen.

Storm junior pitcher Ben Hebert took the tough-luck loss as he scattered seven hits and struck out five batters over six innings. The Tigers scored early and held a 1-0 lead through the first five innings. Squalicum senior center fielder Brady Scammell collected both of his team’s hits.

Sedro-Woolley 4, Ferndale 0

The Golden Eagles were able to manage just two hits as the Cubs’ pitching and defense were in control at home. Senior southpaw Camden Raymond hurled the complete game and gave up just two earned runs while allowing four hits and striking out five. Ferndale’s hits came from sophomore catcher Braylon O’Breen and senior right fielder Bishop Ootsey hit a double.
