Following a defensive first quarter, the Mariners scored 19 points in the second to take a 28-15 lead at the half.

Through three quarters, the Pioneers had only made four field goals, but numerous trips to the line kept them in the game.

Sehome sophomore guard Nolan Wright led the way with 16 points, three steals and three rebounds, and sophomore forward Carter Duckworth came off the bench to score 13 points.

Nooksack Valley junior guard Cory Olney led his team with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, but his teammates combined to shoot 6-for-45. Senior forward Joey Brown had seven points and 10 rebounds.

  • Mount Vernon 74, Bellingham 69

A 35-point effort by senior guard Wyatt Stephan wasn’t enough as the Bayhawks fell on the road to the Bulldogs.

Bellingham held a 21-15 lead after the first quarter, but Mount Vernon was able to rip off 26 points in the following quarter.

Bayhawk senior forward Jesse Harward added 10 points and nine rebounds, while junior Kincade VanHouten and sophomores Myllo Wright and Joe Harward each scored eight points.
