  • Blaine 62, Mount Baker 44

The Mountaineers kept the scoring tight in the first quarter, leaving the Borderites up by only five entering the second. A 19-9 scoring effort by Blaine in the second quarter pushed it out to a 15-point lead at the half.

Mount Baker outscored the Borderites in the final quarter but another high-scoring performance in the third and fourth quarters kept Blaine out in front until the final buzzer.

Blaine was successful in spreading the ball around on offense and ended with four players scoring in the double digits including senior forward Noah Tavis with 15 points, senior forward Conner Dalry with 14 points, junior guard Jacob Dohner with 13 points and senior guard Jesse Deming with 10 points.

The Mountaineers’ scoring effort was led by freshman center Kell Reardon with 14 points, and sophomore guard Jordan Bailey scored 10 points.

  • Lynden 64, King’s 39

The Lions roared out to a 22-6 first quarter lead, and held on to a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.

Senior guard Anthony Canales poured in 22 points to go with his four rebounds, three assists and three steals for Lynden.

Senior Ty Holleman got the starting nod at center and didn’t disappoint as he scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Junior forward Brant Heppner added nine points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals.

  • Lynden Christian 91, Oak Harbor 43

The Wildcats stayed with the Lyncs in the first quarter, and were only outscored by three points, but it was all Lynden Christian after that which outgained Oak Harbor by double-digits in each of the next three quarters.

Junior guard Gannon Dykstra hit 10-of-14 shots from the floor for a game-high 23 points. He also had five assists, five rebounds and three steals for the Lyncs.

Senior forward Jeremiah Wright added 21 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three assists, while seniors Dawson Bouma and Kayden Stuit each finished with 11 points.

  • Lakewood 65, Bellingham 55

In a close game throughout, the Cougars made a few more plays than the Bayhawks, and Bellingham dropped the conference game at home.

Bayhawk sophomore forward Joe Harward, who was elevated from the junior varsity a few weeks ago, led his team in scoring with 17 points.

Bellingham also got eight points from seniors Wyatt Stephan, Jesse Harward and Satchel Craig.
