  • Lynden Christian 87, Mount Baker 41

Little could be done to stop the Lyncs at home on Wednesday night, as Lynden Christian showed everyone in attendance why it has an excellent chance at three-peating as the 1A state champs.

Senior forward Jeremiah Wright had team-highs with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and senior guard Dawson Bouma finished with 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Junior guard Gannon Dykstra shot 6-of-10 from the floor for 13 points, while freshman Kaden Veldman and junior Luke VanKooten came off the bench to score 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Mountaineers were led in scoring by junior Darius Gilstrap who finished with eight points. Sophomore guards Jordan Bailey and Peyton Abitia scored seven points each.

  • Nooksack Valley 74, Friday Harbor 31

The Pioneers came out hot, led 51-18 at halftime and had four players score in double digits.

Most notably was senior guard Wayne Silves who came off the bench to lead Nooksack Valley with 15 points in his first game of the season after recovering from a foot injury mid-way through the football season.

Junior point guard Caden Heutink was masterful in getting his teammates involved as he finished with a season-high 11 assists to go along with his 11 points scored.

Junior center Brady Ackerman also scored 11 points, junior forward Tristan Kamphouse finished with 10 points and eight rebounds and junior forward Colton LentzĀ  had eight points, six boards, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots.

  • Sehome 67, Oak Harbor 57

The Mariners shot a blazing 57% from the floor to help them secure the conference victory on the road.

Sophomore point guard Nolan Wright shot 9-of-10 from the foul line, with many of them coming late in the contest, and led the Mariners with 17 points, seven assists and four steals.

Senior forwards Braddock Duckworth and Austin McKay each scored 15 points, and Duckworth also gave out six assists and blocked three shots.

  • Ferndale 53, Foster 42

The Golden Eagles led 16-5 after the first quarter, and held onto the lead for the remainder of their non-conference road game.

Senior guard Bhavnoor Grewal finished with 17 points, seven steals and five assists, all of which led his team.

Junior forward Jonah Brillowsky also scored 17 points, while pulling down nine boards and sophomore forward Mantaj Singh had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
