Whatcom County shined pretty well as six golfers advanced after playing the bi-district tournament at North Bellingham Golf Course. Lynden Christian’s Thomas Den Hartog led the pack and was closely followed by Daniel Blankenburg and Matthew Blankenburg from Meridian, as well as Uno Nevarez and Ellis Griffin from Blaine. Meridian’s Nathan Larsen will also advance as an alterante.

After 36 holes, Whatcom County was able to advance four golfers to the state tournament. Sehome’s John Kummer and Gabe Quick, as well as Lynden’s Jack Stapleton and Crew Price, will all advance. Kummer shot 79 and 77 to finish fourth overall at the district tournament.

Ferndale senior Baylor Larrabee shot 2 under par after 36 holes to take the district championship, and he will now defend his state title. Ferndale’s Travis Brockie also had a strong performance as he finished 6th in the district tournament.
