It was a close opener for the Golden Eagles who weren’t able to complete the comeback. Arlington led 2-0 at the mid-way break, and Ferndale got on the board in the 65th minute of play on a goal by Phoenyx Finkbonner. It was assisted by Coen Braun off a corner kick delivered by Ryder McClellan.

Sedro-Woolley 3, Nooksack Valley 1

The Pioneers opened up their season with a tough loss at home against the Cubs. In the first half, Nooksack Valley junior Tyrel Johnson dribbled past multiple defenders and put a shot on goal that was deflected by the Sedro-Woolley keeper, which allowed Chris Castillo to score. The score was tied 1-1 at the half, but the Cubs scored two goals midway through the second half.
