Sehome 2, Bellingham 0

Five days after suffering their first loss of the season, the Mariners needed a win against their crosstown rival in order to keep their season alive. Sehome got goals from junior Rudy Zurcher and senior Reiley Buri-Brown, and the Mariners (16-1-1) will move on to the 2A state tournament as the number one seed to take on Tumwater. Bellingham played four straight loser-out games before losing to Sehome and the Bayhawks’ season ended with a 14-5-1 record.

Meridian 2, Lynden Christian 0

The Trojans got on the board early in the 1A district championship game when sophomore Skyler Rowe scored a quick goal on a throw-in and Meridian led 1-0 at the half. Trojan sophomore goalkeeper Daniel Larsen used his size and athletic ability on numerous occasions to maintain a clean net. The second goal of the game happened when junior Roy Marquez took a shot that deflected off a Lync defender and ended up in the goal. Lynden Christian’s season came to a close with a 10-5-2 record after starting the season 0-4. Meridian (12-4-1) will take on King’s Way Christian in the opening round of the 1A state tournament.
