Meridian 2, King’s Way Christian 1
Meridian 2, King’s Way Christian 1
Having to play an extra game in the opening round of the 1A state tournament, the Trojans made the most of their situation by pulling out the slim victory on the road. Meridian got on the board first when senior Taran Burks scored a short goal from a perfectly placed corner kick from junior Asher Todd, and the Trojans led 1-0 at the half. Meridian scored again in the second half on a goal from sophomore Skyler Rowe, his team-leading 16th of the season, with 25 minutes left in the contest. The Knights got on the board eight minutes later, but sophomore Daniel Larsen proved to be huge in goal once again. The Trojans will now face the third-seeded Royal Knights at 5:00 on Friday at Royal High School.
