BLAINE 3, MOUNT BAKER 0

Dube

The Borderites kept their season alive by defeating the Mountaineers in the play-in round, 25-13, 25-16 and 25-22.

Sophomore outside hitter Teia Dube posted a double-double with 15 kills and 12 digs to lead Blaine, while senior Kaitlyn Harrington and junior Carly Saunders added seven kills each.

Cohn

Senior Brie Smith handed out 23 assists, while Harrington added three aces and 14 digs.

Mountaineer junior Kaia Gesmundo finished with four kills and a .200 hitting percentage, while senior Annalee Cohn closed out her career with 12 assists, two kills and 1.5 blocks.

 

LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 3, NOOKSACK VALLEY 1

Wright

The Lyncs rallied from a 21-17 deficit in the first set, and scored the final eight points to win 25-21. The Pioneers took the second set 25-19, but Lynden Christian came back to win the next two sets 25-13 and 25-20.

Sophomore Lyla Parriera led her team with 17 digs and three aces, while junior Etta DeJong added 11 kills and junior Alli Wright led with 2.5 blocks.

Olney

Junior Ella Fritts finished with 35 assists, five digs, three kills and two blocks.

Nooksack Valley junior Grace DeHoog had nine kills and six digs to led her team, along with sophomore Karson Olney’s six digs.

Sophomore Elizabeth DeLange had eight kills and two blocks, while junior Payton Bartl finished with 19 assists. Both players led with four aces each.

 

MERIDIAN 3, BLAINE 0

Short

The Trojans were on top of their game, and defeated the Borderites 25-12, 25-13 and 25-15.

Freshman Melanie Short had 15 kills, a .448 hitting percentage and nine digs to help lead the way for top-seeded Meridian. Sophomore Eden Bernardy led her team with four aces and 11 digs, while also totaling seven kills.

Harrington

Senior setter Grace Wells finished with 23 assists.

Blaine was led by Dube once again who had six kills and 12 digs, both team-highs.

Harrington added 11 digs and three kills, and Smith finished with eight assists.

 

MARYSVILLE-PILCHUCK 3, BELLINGHAM 1

Knutsen

The season for the Bayhawks came to a close when they dropped the district play-in game to the Tomahawks.

Bellingham took the first set 25-17, but fell in the next three sets 25-20, 25-14 and 25-16.

Junior Jayda Knutsen had a great game with 12 kills, 12 digs and three aces.

Freshman Sonoma Smith finished with seven kills and 14 digs, sophomore Bailey Burge had a team-high 20 digs and junior Sadie Hanley had 17 assists and five digs.

 

SEHOME 3, LAKEWOOD 0

Niewiadomski

The Mariners defeated the Cougars 25-21, 21-18 and 21-19 to get into the semifinals of the district tournament.

Junior outside hitter Hayden Niewiadomski led Sehome with 13 kills and five aces. Senior Leah Lockwood added 12 kills.

Sophomore Paige Flory and junior Bridgette Adams combined for 17 kills and a .400 hitting percentage, and senior Emmy Lee dished out 37 assists.

Junior libero Makenna Andrews led with 15 digs, and she was closely followed by Flory who had 12 digs.

 

LYNDEN 3, ANACORTES 2

Parcher

The Lions survived an amazing comeback from the Seahawks on Saturday night to move on to the semifinals of the district tournament.

After Lynden won the first two sets, 25-10 and 25-18, Anacortes stormed back to beat the Lions 25-14 and 25-17. Lynden held strong in the fifth set to win 15-12.

Sophomore Finley Parcher had a double-double with 19 kills and 11 digs to lead Lynden, while sophomore Lexi Hermanutz and junior Rian Stephan each had 11 kills.

Junior libero Cambell DeJong dug out 23, while the Stephan sisters combined for nine aces. Freshman Izzie Stephan also finished with 40 assists.

 

BURLINGTON-EDISON 3, SQUALICUM 0

The Tigers continued their dominance this season by defeating the Storm 25-11, 25-17 and 25-11.

Statistics for the match have yet to be obtained.
