The score was tied 1-1 after four innings, but just as the Borderite offense started to click, Blaine senior pitcher Emersyn Bakker only got stronger. She struck out 16 batters and walked just two to grab her ninth victory of the season. Junior Shaylie Daniels and sophomore Mesa Puls each had a pair of hits for the Borderites. The Lyncs offense was led by junior Kassidy VanSoest who singled, tripled and scored her team’s lone run.

The Lions got homeruns from Campbell DeJong and Melanie Anderson, but the Kangaroos scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to come back and take the lead that would never be relinquished. Lynden junior Rebecca Powell also hit two doubles, and senior Trinity Andrew struck out seven batters in nearly six innings of work.
