The Mountaineers needed just three innings of offense to put away the Rangers. Senior Ava Jeretzky went 3-for-3 with a homerun and six runs batted in, and she also picked up the win as she struck out six batters in three innings. Freshman Kara Welters finished up in the circle and struck out two of the three batters that she faced. Kennedy Rathjen had two hits and two RBI’s while Lauren Valum scored four runs.

Mount Baker stayed hot in the second game of the day and scored all nine of its runs in the first two innings. Lauren Valum led the way offensively with three base hits and two runs batted in. The Mountaineers also picked up a pair of base hits from Kennedy Rathjen and Ella Maloley while Zaida Haynes drove in three runs. Ava Jeretzky got the win and moved to 3-0 on the season, matching her team’s record.

In the Golden Eagle opener senior Mallory Butenschoen did a little bit of everything as she went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, and she also went the distance in the circle and struck out 11 batters in the process. Catcher Kaelin Blakley had a pair of hits, scored two runs and she also stole a base for Ferndale.

In game two of the twin billing, Ferndale scored in every inning as Kaelin Blakley blasted a three-run homerun in the fifth inning to break a 9-9 tie. She finished with five runs batted in on the game, while Mallory Butenschoen and Hailey Pavitt each scored four runs.

The Buccaneers scored 12 runs in the second inning to break the game wide open as the Storm failed to reach base in the shortened contest.
