The Storm scored first when Keeley Meling’s single brought home Gabi Gearhart who had stole second and third base. The Mariners tied it up in the bottom of this first and went on to have big offensive innings throughout the rest of the game. Mariner pitcher Sarah Kruzich allowed just two hits over four innings, and she struck out eight batters. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and three runs batted in. Sehome catcher Elyse Krout also added extra offense with a single and a double. Squalicum freshman Carmen Rodriguez led off the top of the second inning with a line-drive double to the right-center field fence, was stranded at third base by inning’s end.
