Lynden Christian pitcher Kassidy VanSoest fires in a pitch against Squalicum.

Lynden Christian 27, Squalicum 2

Both teams featured a lot of new varsity players, but the player that returned with the most experience was Lyncs pitcher Kassidy VanSoest. It showed, as she batted 2-for-3 with two runs batted in a four runs scored while also picking up the win as she struck out seven batters and allowed just three hits in the shortened contest. The Storm couldn’t click in the circle, and they tried three different pitchers in the three innings. Lynden Christian drew 16 walks, and five others were hit by a pitch. Freshman leadoff hitter Kortnee Tolsma drove in five runs to lead the Lyncs. Squalicum was led offensively by Addison Hauber who drove in both of her team’s runs, and Gabi Gearhart who scored both of those runs.
