Lynden 5, Lakewood 2

For the second day in a row, the Lions hosted a terrific team and picked up the win. Senior catcher Kasi Thomas had three of her team’s four hits, including a double. She also scored two runs and knocked in two runs. Senior pitcher Trinity Andrew struck out 10 batters in five and 1/3 innings, while allowing just four hits. Freshman Callie Ramerman got the final five outs in the circle to pick up the save.

The Golden Eagles showed patience and power as they defeated the youthful Strom. Ferndale walked 15 times, and junior catcher Kaelin Blakley blasted a grand slam in the bottom of the second inning. She finished five total runs batted in along with four runs scored. Jaycena Lajuan hit a triple and drove in three runs, and Hailey Pavitt scored four runs. Lajuan also picked up the victory in the circle. Squalicum got base hits from Keeley Meling and T.T. Bardsley-Taylor.

The Trojans scored all 10 of their runs in the final three innings to come back and beat the previously unbeaten Mariners on the road. The Meridian offense was charged by junior Natalie Schultz and senior Kaelyn Neevel who each had three hits and three runs batted in. Junior Lorelai Margeson hit a triple and scored three runs for Meridian. Lucy Greenberg led Sehome with three hits, and Elyse Krout knocked in two runs for the Mariners.

Sophomore southpaw Payton Bartl pitched a no-hitter in the shortened game, while also hitting a triple and scoring three runs for the Pioneers. Shortstop Shelby Mason drove in four runs with four hits, including a double to lead the offensive attack. Kennedy Burke and Halle Benner each scored three runs for Nooksack Valley.

The Mountaineers scored 17 runs in the first two innings to power past the Seahawks on the road. Shortstop Annalee Cohn went 3-for-4 with a triple, 3 runs batted in and three runs scored to lead the offense. Ava Jeretzky and Zaida Haynes also knocked in three runs each, while Kennedy Rathjen and Ella Maloley each scored three runs. Jeretzky struck out seven batters and picked up her county-leading fourth win of the season.

It was a 1-1 tie after two innings of play, but the Cubs erupted for 16 runs in the third inning to break the game wide open. The Lyncs struggled to get runners on base as their only hits came from Kortnee Tolsma and Taylor Craig. Kassidy VanSoest struck out two batters, but picked up the loss.
